The Kingdom Where the Temples Catch the Sun

Yangdon lies south of the Tribelands and west of the towering Jabal'alnor Peaks, a land of ancient mysticism, vibrant traditions, and lush tropical beauty. The mighty Thanitya River, sacred to the Yangdonese, flows southward from the mountains, dividing the kingdom into northern and southern halves and nourishing the fertile central floodplains where most of the population resides. Coastal mangroves skirt the southern shores along the warm Zindara Gulf, and to the west, dense rainforests flourish with life. Faith and the Celestial Radiant Ones
Yangdon's faith centers on the Celestial Radiant Ones, divine embodiments of cosmic truths and virtues. These deities are said to appear as luminous beings who guide mortals toward enlightenment. Practitioners endure rites of humility and meditation to align their inner beings with the divine luminescence.

Yangdon is not without its troubles. Fierce monsoon storms and flooding plague the lowlands. The dense forests harbor powerful spirits that demand respect or appeasement. To the north, tensions simmer with the Tribelands, where warring clans sometimes raid southern territories. Queen Saodaya has brokered tenuous treaties, but peace is fragile. And internally, a growing number of discontented aristocrats question the balance of spiritual influence on governance, striving for secular reforms that could shift the kingdom's traditional foundations. These rifts create shadows under the radiant canopy.
