Täyli is the High Sorceress of the Sorceress Guild in Kirrath, the Crystal Spire Dominions, and a senior figure within the Avattarre faction. She is believed to belong to the Issenne facet-line, a lineage built around the principle that one perfect working is worth more than a century of incremental progress. Her authority was established in a single act of mastery so undeniable that it settled the question of her standing in an afternoon and has never been challenged since: which is extraordinary in a culture where status must be constantly renewed through new contributions.

She presents as controlled, exacting, and economical with her words, commanding attention without seeking it. Her appearance is peak Avattarre: a structured black coat that opens into translucent arcane panels during spellwork, loose unstyled hair (a power statement in Kirrath), self-chosen dark violet eyes, and crystal finger-caps that double as focusing instruments. Transformation marks at her throat and hands record the accumulated cost of remaking herself many times.

Her central tension is that she built her authority on a single act, which means a single greater act from someone else could overtake it, and every ambitious elf in the Sorceress Guild knows it. She is both the standard Kirrath measures itself against and the target the whole hall is aiming at. Her many self-modifications have also permanently narrowed her tuning range, making her one of the most accomplished and most fragile self-benders alive: the next transformation she attempts would be the most dangerous working of her life.
