Toruna is an Omurith elf that grew up east of Görmova, bridge-grower mother, sap-collector father. Practical household, no ceremony. She was climbing trees faster than adults by age ten and at fourteen walked to the nearest Kıvamkök field station to ask what needed doing. They told her to carry packs. Within five years she was running routes nobody else would take.

She carries a pair of heavy knives at the hip, commissioned from a Kavüşan metalworker, balanced for throwing and cutting. She has never used them on another elf. She wears thigh-high boots reinforced with bark panels because standard Omurith footwear is useless in the broken terrain she works. Her dark brown cloak is ugly, waxed, patched twice, and smells of honey and woodsmoke. Her father gave it to her when she left home. She has turned down every replacement.

She runs long-range survey routes on the southeastern border for a crew mapping growth anomalies where the forest meets scrubland. She covers more ground than anyone because she moves fast, doesn't get lost, and doesn't stop to think about what she finds: she marks it and brings the data back.

Recently she has noticed a faint metallic smell in the border soil that doesn't match any known arcane tide, the same anomaly Varanaya has been tracking from a different direction, though neither knows the other exists yet.
