Tanuri Bharukesh is a Vumari fire mage exiled from the Kararag Isles after learning to command the volcanic Sleeping Fire through Old Draconic, the language of the Draconic Thread. The Ashmoot granted her the rare title Voice of the Sleeping Fire for the achievement, then cast her out because a person who can command the fire rather than borrow it threatens the entire communal governance structure the Vumari depend on. She accepted the logic, took a coal from her mother's hearthstone, and left. She now travels Mystaria seeking other sites where the Draconic Thread runs close to the surface, convinced the Sleeping Fire is part of a larger elemental pattern. The Thread of Command is slowly reshaping her: hardened skin, narrowing emotions, and increasing rigidity. She considers it a fair price for clarity, keeps her ember-pot lit, and does not talk about going home.
