Tilda Rúngaelvorn is a 212-year-old city elf and the chief archivist (skáld) of House Rúngaelvorn, serving as both guardian of its vast archives and representative on cultural heritage matters. Born at the family's forest estate in 1813, she displayed a fascination with books and records from an early age, eventually studying archival sciences at the University of Kaiseringaden before returning home with modern ideas about preservation and scholarship.
After decades of effectively performing the duties of skáld, she formally assumed the role in 1912 and has held it ever since. Over more than one century, Tilda has expanded the house archives, preserved invaluable manuscripts, acquired important historical collections, and guided the house through one Generational Confirmation. She believes that noble houses must justify their existence through service and stewardship rather than tradition alone.
Driven by a deep commitment to preserving accurate knowledge, Tilda sees archival work as a moral responsibility. Though respected for her expertise, she is often more comfortable among books than politicians, and her centuries-long perspective can make her dismissive of short-term concerns. Despite witnessing the decline and eventual dissolution of the Aldermark Empire, she remains devoted to her clan's estate, convinced that the work of preserving history is never truly finished.
