Giselle Hennesfeld was born into one of the oldest noble houses straddling the border between Verdania and Falentia, inheriting the grace of Verdanian courtly tradition and the practical ingenuity of Falentian blood. Raised among grand estates, glittering banquets, and political salons, she quickly became known for her impeccable manners, keen wit, and striking beauty. With her fiery red hair always arranged in a flawless bun and elegant crimson gowns tailored to perfection, Giselle became a fixture at noble gatherings throughout both kingdoms.

Yet no one speaks of Lady Giselle without mentioning the rumors. While the women of House Hennesfeld have long been regarded as attractive, none possessed the astonishing figure that Giselle developed upon reaching adulthood. Her voluptuous form, and especially her impossibly generous bosom, became the subject of endless gossip. Some claimed it was simply an extraordinary blessing from the goddess Luwana̅h. Others whispered of hidden alchemical elixirs or experimental Falentian treatments.

The oldest servants, however, tell a different tale. According to them, a young Giselle wandered into an ancient Verdanian faerie grove during a midsummer celebration and struck a bargain with a circle of mischievous faeries. They granted her unmatched beauty in exchange for an annual offering left beneath the oldest oak in the grove. Should she ever fail to honor the pact, the blessing would become a curse, and her most famous feature would continue to grow without end until it consumed both her dignity and her freedom.

Giselle herself has never confirmed nor denied the story. Every midsummer, however, she quietly disappears for a single evening, returning the next morning with flowers woven into her hair and an unusually cheerful smile. Whether she is simply observing an old family tradition or paying an ancient debt to the Fair Folk remains one of Verdania's most enduring noble mysteries.
