Shunnaya was born beneath the emerald canopy of the Sunangorii Isles during the Season of Long Mists, when the jungle sleeps beneath silver fog and the voices of the ancestors are said to carry furthest on the wind. Daughter of the Whisperwind Clan, she spent her childhood among rope bridges, woven branch-homes, and drifting songs played upon hollow reed flutes high above the forest floor.

Even as a child, Shunnaya was quiet by Sunangorii standards. While others gathered around evening fires to sing, dance, and share stories, she often slipped away to wander the upper boughs alone. Her grandmother, a respected smoke-reader, claimed the spirits had gifted the girl with "ears for the hidden wind", a rare ability to notice details others overlooked. As she grew, Shunnaya became known for her exceptional skill as a hunter and scout. Lean and strong, with a trim stomach and powerful arms shaped by years of climbing trees and throwing spears, she could move through the jungle almost without sound. Elders often sent her ahead of the clan's migrations to locate safe campsites, hidden water sources, or signs of danger. Many swore she could sense a predator long before it revealed itself.

Her distinctive white-painted tattoos began as simple ceremonial markings during her coming-of-age rite. After successfully surviving three nights alone within the deepest parts of the jungle, she earned the right to expand the patterns into the elaborate swirling designs that now cover her skin. The markings represent smoke, wind, and ancestral guidance, reflecting both her spiritual insight and her independence.

Many Sunangorii view her with admiration. Others consider her eccentric, perhaps even touched by spirits in ways that make ordinary people uncomfortable. Shunnaya herself cares little for such opinions. She remains fiercely loyal to her people but believes that understanding the world requires leaving the safety of familiar branches behind.

Today, she is known among several clans as Shunnaya Wind-Seeker, a solitary hunter, smoke-reader, and wanderer who walks between tradition and discovery. Wherever the jungle whispers secrets, or the ancestors send warnings upon the smoke, Shunnaya is rarely far away.
