Marciane, Angel of Determination

Marciane is a half-celestial Apsaras, born of the sacred union between mortal and divine, and one of the Twenty-One Angels of Virtues serving under the Divine Hierarchy established by Eo, the Lady of Light. As an Apsaras, she inherited the grace, perceptiveness, and deep empathy characteristic of her kind. But where most Apsaras found their calling in beauty and performance, Marciane was drawn toward something harder and quieter: the long, unglamorous work of not giving up. Her name, rooted in dedication to Mars, signals a nature that was always somewhat at odds with her celestial lineage: too still to be purely Apsaras, too warm to be purely warrior.

She lived through the Aeon of Ignorance, the great celestial conflict between the Seraphim, Archons, and Zabaniyah, and it was in that prolonged, grinding war that her domain crystallized. Marciane witnessed celestials and mortals alike abandon worthy causes not because they were defeated, but because they became tired and stopped believing the effort still mattered. That specific surrender became her life's opposition.

When Eo established the Divine Hierarchy and brought order to Empyrea, Marciane was appointed as the seventh of the Twenty-One Virtues, assigned the domain of Determination. She has served in that role ever since, appearing not at the bright beginnings of struggles, but in their difficult, faithless middles, reflecting back to mortals and celestials alike the proof that they are already stronger than they believe themselves to be.

Since Eo's mysterious disappearance, Marciane has continued her work without faltering, embodying in her own existence the very virtue she was created to inspire. If anything, the uncertainty left by the Lady of Light's absence has made her purpose feel more urgent, not less.
